Color Chart

The human Chakra System is considered to consist of thousands of different energy centers of different sizes which are spread all over the body. Such an energy center in its "healthy stage" is usually depicted as a vortex with a spin of a certain direction, intensity and consistency. However in chakra therapy, the main seven chakras are considered essential for balancing in order to bring the whole energetic system back into a harmonious state. Following a short explanation of the function of each of the seven main chakras and the meaning of each associated color (starting from base up to crown). For therapeutic purpose the disks or plates in their appropriate color can be laid directly on the corresponding chakra.

Root Chakra

Location: At the very lower end of the spine

Color: Red

Influence: Adrenal glands

Functions: General life functions, reproduction, body fluids, regulation of temperature, bones and nerves

Attributes: Life force, energy, self-actualization, self confidence, decision making, success.

Description: This chakra is about security, survival and procreation.

Symptoms of weakness include: Sciatica and reproductive issues.

Symptom of bloackage: Chronic fear.

Navel / Sacral Chakra

Location: in the upper pelvic area, about two fingers below the navel

Color: Orange

Influence: Gonadal

Functions: Circulatory System, Energy production.

Attributes: Enthusiasm, self assurance, sociability, joy, friendship, constructiveness, compassion.

Description: This chakra is about sexuality and sensuality, and supports healthy relationships of all kinds, including with money.

Symptoms of weakness include: lower back pain, urinary problems, addictions and power struggles.

Symptoms of blockage: Chronic guilt.

Solar Plexus Chakra

Location: Above the navel, belos the softbone structure of the chest

Color: Gold (Yellow)

Influence: Pancreas

Functions: Mental Alertness, Nervous system, Digestion, Assimilation and Excretion.

Attributes: Cheerfulness, generosity, optimism. phantasy, striving for success, logical thinking, expression of self (ego).

Description: This chakra is about desire and supports self love and integrity.

Symptoms of weakness include: eating disorders, hormonal and digestive system complaints, chronic fatigue.

Symptoms of blockage: Chronic shame.

Heart Chakra

Location: chest, between the breasts

Color: Green

Influence: Thymus

Functions: Immune system, respiratory system, cardio-vascular, ageing process.

Attributes: Compassion, courage, love, equilibrium, well-being, harmony, stability, reliability, adaptability, growth, abundance, love, nature, vegetation.

Description: This chakra is about compassion. It supports the body’s communication systems, sensitivity to touch.

Symptoms of weakness include: Cardio-vascular and respiratory problems, restrictions upper thoracic area.

Symptoms of blockage: Chronic depression.

Throat Chakra

Location: Throat, at the base of the neck where you can see a small pit.

Color: blue (lightblue)

Influence: Thyroid

Functions: regulates blood pressure, immune system, hormonal system (menopause).

Attributes: Communication, patience, honesty, confidence, peace, calm, meditation, truth, faithfullness.

Description: This chakra is about intention and creativity. It supports self expression.

Symptoms of weakness include: throat, voice, hearing and thyroid problems.

Symptoms of blockage: Chronic obsessive, compulsive behaviors, phobias and indecision.

Third Eye Chakra

Location: between the eyebrows at the root of your nose

Color: Indigo (dark blue)

Influence: Pituitary gland

Functions: Cognitive functions, growth, metabolism, synchronization of left and right brain hemispheres.

Attributes: Communication, patience, imagination, wisdom/insight, inspiration, psychic power.

Description: This chakra is about awareness and intelligence. It gives rise to imagination and intuition.

Symptoms of weakness include: Headache, confusion, eye problems, learning disabilities.

Symptoms of blockage: Illusion, recurring nightmares, lack of focus and discipline.

Crown Chakra

Location: at the top of your head

Color: Purple (Violet)

Influence: Pineal gland

Functions: Neurotransmitters, integration of complementary energies, consciousness, cosmic alignement.

Attributes: Spirituality, matter and spirit, transformation, realization of Self (enlightenment)

Description: This chakra is about inspiration and spirituality. Connects to origin/source beyond time/space continuum.

Symptoms of weakness include: Endocrine and musculo-skeletal disorders, environmental hypersensitivity.

Symptoms of blockage: Loss of purpose and confusion are symptoms of blockage.
